Vatech introduces green CBCT concept

PaX-i3D Green, the latest addition to Vatech America's PaX-i3D brand, it looking to revolutionize the way cone-beam CT (CBCT) systems are manufactured and regarded in the dental industry.

PaX-i3D Green is eco-friendly, features ultralow radiation without sacrificing image quality, and has U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance for pediatric use, the company noted in a press release.

Other product features include the following:

  • 49.5-micron full-digital complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) flat-panel x-ray sensors, which provide clear 3D images with only 5.8-sec scan time
  • 3-in-1 capability, providing cephalometric imaging, panoramic imaging, and CT on three separate, dedicated sensors
  • Horizontal and vertical collimation to target specific region of interest minimizing the burden of incidental findings

New PaX-i3D Green has also revolutionized the way dental CBCT systems are manufactured by adopting eco-friendly quality-control measures. In addition, the entire manufacturing process was reworked to eliminate hazardous substance from the devices (such as lead, mercury, etc.). Vatech is also employing renewable energy sources and reducing the overall carbon footprint involved in manufacture of a device by reducing and managing the power consumption of the entire supply chain.
