Ashtel Dental will begin marketing Brush Buddies, a new toothbrush line featuring five whimsical characters, in January 2011, the company announced.
The Brush Buddies family features a dog, a cat, a cow, a pig, and a monkey. Each Brush Buddies character talks along with a playful melody that, when activated, plays for the recommended brush time of two minutes.
Brush Buddies aim to educate kids on healthy brushing habits in addition to making the task more fun, the company said. The unique voice recording of each character features an animated voice that guides kids through proper brushing of each section of their teeth, starting with their upper teeth, then switching to their lower teeth after the first minute, and finally ending the sequence with an encouraging message of praise for a job well done.
Starting in January, the new toothbrushes can be purchased through dental product retailers and select dentist offices, Ashtel noted.
