Although COVID-19 is still affecting our personal and professional lives, it is important to remember that the pandemic conditions will end. During this transition period, it is beneficial for dentists to focus on strategies that will strengthen the practice during the remainder of COVID-19 conditions and during the period after it ends.

Do

Work on reactivation every single day. The front desk team should follow effective scripting that addresses patients' two main concerns: safety and finances. Tell them what the practice is doing to keep them safe and inform them of practice financial options that will make dentistry affordable. This will give patients the confidence to come in, feel safe, and believe they can afford treatment.

Don

Don't forget to accumulate cash. We don't know how bumpy the rest of 2021 will be, but we can be confident that it will have some ups and downs. Practices with cash will be in a stronger position to weather the downturn, experience lower anxiety about expenses, and invest in a successful future and continue to move forward.
