Do's and don'ts for a great attitude

It can be hard to have a good attitude, especially during uncertain times. Remember that staying consistently positive won't just happen: You must work at it. When you do, you'll reap the rewards for yourself, your team, and your practice.

Do

Focus on something positive. A study found that people have four negative thoughts to every one positive thought. If you can begin to crowd out your negative thoughts and focus on the positive ones, your attitude, demeanor, and even health will get better and better.

Don

Don't forget to check your body language throughout the day. With all the new personal protective equipment (PPE), it is harder than ever for patients to read body language. Be sure to smile underneath your mask, make eye contact, and lean forward when talking to patients to create a positive, energized environment.
