BioMed X, J&J partner on oral health research

BioMed X Innovation Center and Johnson & Johnson Consumer are collaborating to establish a research group to develop methods to disrupt oral biofilms.

The organizations are seeking original project proposals to develop novel approaches to remove saliva-derived, mixed-species, and potentially pathogenic bacterial biofilms. The best will be selected to join the new research group within BioMed X's open innovation lab at the University of Heidelberg life science campus.

"We are excited about the collaboration since it extends our research project portfolio into the field of consumer healthcare," stated Christian Tidona, founder and managing director of BioMed X, in a press release.
