NEW YORK -- Dentistry's annual rush to leave New York City before the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center is lit is no more.

Beginning in 2026, the Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM) will open the exhibit hall from Sunday, November 29, through Tuesday, December 1, shortening the exhibit time by a day.
Traditionally, the exhibit hall has been open Sunday through Wednesday afternoon. That first Wednesday of December also coincided with the annual tree lighting at Rockefeller Center, which causes street closures in Manhattan and makes travel more challenging.
While the exhibit hall will open Sunday through Tuesday in 2026, education will still run for five days, beginning on Friday and wrapping up on Tuesday as well.
