The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (Penn Dental) has received a nearly $621,000 grant from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation to improve care for patients with disabilities.

The grant will enhance the work at Penn Dental's Personalized Care Suite, which is the clinical section of the school's care center for persons with disabilities. The first phase of the project will involve conducting focus groups with caregivers to gather insights, which will inform the development of educational videos and training tools.

A full-time oral health educator and part-time hygienist will provide personalized and group training in various settings, including the personalized care suite and community centers.
