The California Dental Association (CDA) Foundation has awarded Habiba Ismail, DDS, its Student Loan Repayment Grant.
The grant recognizes one recent dental school graduate who commits to practicing in an underserved community. Dr. Ismail will receive $105,000 over a period of three years to help repay her student loans.
Dr. Ismail graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Dentistry in 2013 and is currently working for a nonprofit interprofessional health center in Los Angeles.
The CDA Foundation also announced that Martha De La Pena, DMD, was awarded the Webb Family Grant, which goes to the runner-up for the Student Loan Repayment Grant. Dr. De La Pena will receive $5,000.
