A dentist and pediatrician couple have donated $1 million to the University of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health (EIOH) and the School of Medicine and Dentistry.
The donation will establish a pediatric dentistry chair and help fund renovations at EIOH. It will also found a student support fund to help medical students serve in countries with health disparities.
The donors, pediatric dentist Martha Ann Keels, DDS, PhD, and her husband, pediatrician Dennis A. Clemens III, MD, PhD, MPH, wanted to give current students a chance to have a transformational experience, either by helping and learning from another culture or learning how to treat patients with special needs.
