ULM Dental Hygiene Program gets mobile unit grant

The University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) Dental Hygiene Program has received a $2,500 grant from Entergy to support the ULM Mobile Dental Hygiene Unit.

This is the fourth grant ULM's program has received from the power company.

More than 2,000 patients receive care in the ULM clinics. The funds help provide service to patients who use the mobile dental hygiene unit in northeast Louisiana. The mobile unit is part of a collection of clinics run by ULM's Dental Hygiene Program.

Supervised by faculty who are licensed dental hygienists, students provide teeth cleanings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants, oral cancer screenings, patient education, and nutritional information.
