A Pacific University School of Dental Health Science associate professor has been named the 2014 Educator of the Year by the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA).
Gail Aamodt, RDH, who joined Pacific University in July 2006 and has more than 25 years of experience as a clinical dental hygienist, oversees the School of Dental Health Science's clinical education program, according to the story.
The program includes the university's Dental Health Clinic, where students provide thousands of hours of free or low-cost oral care services to underserved populations throughout Washington County.
Aamodt is also the president-elect of the Oregon Dental Hygienists' Association, and her areas of expertise and interest include learner-centered education, team development, and educational opportunities for dental hygiene educators.
She will be presented with the award at the 2014 ADHA Annual Session in Las Vegas on June 22.
