Univ. of the Pacific to offer advanced endodontics

Students and dental professionals interested in pursuing the latest advances in the specialty of endodontics are being invited to apply for the new Advanced Education Program in Endodontology offered by University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.

The postgraduate program will start in July 2014. The 27-month program is designed to provide in-depth clinical training built on a solid foundation of biomedical science, the university noted in a news release. Program director Ove Peters, DMD, PhD, and his team have created a balanced curriculum to prepare residents for the American Board of Endodontics certification process.

The curriculum is a combination of didactic courses, strong clinical experience, and research. Residents are expected to complete 250 cases spanning all areas of contemporary endodontic therapy, including surgical endodontics. Upon successful completion of the program, residents will graduate with a Master of Science degree in dentistry and a certificate in endodontics.

Three residents will be accepted each year to the endodontics program. Completed applications and all supporting documents must be received by the endodontic department before October 1, 2013. Click here for more details.
