Unident Software has introduced a Mac-compatible dental practice management system, Axex Dental.
The software-hardware combination is compatible with Apple's OS X system and also Apple's latest generation of iOS devices, according to the company.
Axex Dental features office-wide Web browser access and easy installation. Patient appointments, charts, and accounts can be accessed from a browser from any networked Mac computer or iPad. It includes common patient forms, such as registration and medical history questionnaires that can be completed and signed on Apple's iPad.
Unident's software also runs on Windows platforms. Axex Dental users can use a Windows digital x-ray sensor or an encrypted attachment service while benefiting from the Mac experience for the rest of office operations.
Unident is offering an early adopter program that allows Mac users to try Axex Dental in their dental practice for free for six months.
