Aussie firm offers unique distraction device for kids

Diversionary Therapy Technologies (DTT) has released Ditto Dental, an interactive electronic device containing augmented reality content that helps prepare children for dental procedures.

Ditto Dental was created based on the latest research that distraction and educational techniques simultaneously reduce stress, DTT noted in a press release. The portable device uses augmented reality, a multimodal, sensory-based distraction medium designed to engage pediatric patients and to reduce their stress and anxiety.

Ditto Dental features patient educational content covering all dental procedures. The device also includes interactive games and immersive stories to engage the patient while waiting for the procedure.

The Australian company's diversionary products for children have been successful in hospitals around the world at reducing anxiety in pediatric patients. This is its first dental product.
