Patriot National Insurance will provide the Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine with up to $450,000 to support efforts to provide dental services to underserved populations in Fort Lauderdale.
The dental school will use the gift, part of Patriot National's new Patriot Health Initiative, to expand hours of existing programs and establish new programs, especially for patients with special needs and developmental disabilities, according to the school.
The college offers dental services throughout Fort Lauderdale with clinics at its main campus in Davie, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, and Oakland Park, FL. The school also partners with the nonprofit Women In Distress to provide dental services to battered women.
