When patients visit your practice, they remember the care they received, the friendliness of the staff, and the convenience of their appointment. In short, they are remembering your customer service! Without strong customer service, a practice puts itself at great risk for declining production.

Do

Educate patients. Be a resource, not just an office that provides a service. Any practice can offer a service. Your practice must be much more than that! Educate patients on proper oral hygiene. Provide them with fact sheets and brochures addressing dental health concerns. This kind of above-and-beyond service shows patients you care and helps to instill trust in your team.

Don't

Don't forget the patient attached to the teeth! It's important to develop strong relationships with your patients. Get to know them. Learn their hobbies and occupations. Establish rapport with them. Patients are more likely to accept treatment from a doctor and a team they trust. The only way to gain that trust is for the entire team to make an effort to know your patients.
