DentAppoint launches new patient scheduling service

DentAppoint Patient Recall Services launched a new personalized patient scheduling service at the California Dental Association (CDA) meeting in San Francisco that is designed to assist dental practices in activating patients who are overdue for hygiene and restorative treatment.

"We believe there is significant demand for this type of service," said Michael Barrett, founder of DentAppoint. "Most dental offices have several hundred overdue and inactive patients on their recall list, (and most) dental offices don't have enough staff to perform the phone calls themselves during regular office hours. As a result, practices are losing more patients than they are gaining."

The key to DentAppoint's scheduling success is that they use real people for all patient contact, the company said. Personal calls are made to overdue patients during evening hours Monday through Thursday and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., when patients are most likely to be home.

Another benefit of the system is that appointments are booked directly into the practice management software. DentAppoint integrates with all the major software vendors including Dentirx, Eaglesoft, Praticeworks, Softdent, East Dental, Open Dental, and Windent.

The service also provides dentists with weekly and monthly reports showing which patients have been contacted and which are scheduled for appointments. Patient information profiles can be also be updated if requested.

DentAppoint promises to schedule at least 25 new appointments each month for a monthly fee of $599. It complements any automated conformation/reminder service currently being used and is fully compliant with HIPAA patient privacy regulations, the company noted.
