University of Missouri dental school gets new dean

The University of Missouri-Kansas City has named Marsha Pyle, D.D.S., as the new dean of the School of Dentistry, according to a news story in the university paper. She will assumed office August 10.

Dr. Pyle is the former vice dean of the School of Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. She graduated in 1984 from the Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry.

"Dr. Pyle has a strong record of academic excellence in dental education," said Dr. Robert Piepho, dean of the School of Pharmacy and chair of the search committee, in the story. "She is a nationally recognized leader in curricular reform and has demonstrated that she has excellent insight into a vision to take our School of Dentistry to the next level in education and research."
