Ad agency reaches out to frustrated dentists

Citing the current economic challenges facing dental businesses, Ramp, a 9-year-old advertising agency serving more than 150 dental practices in the U.S. and Canada, is offering to "rescue" dentists who are disappointed with, or have been abandoned by, their marketing agencies.

As part of this effort, Ramp will waive its standard setup fee for first-time direct mail portal clients and provide the first month of access to the direct mail service without charge, the company announced.

"There is a lot of pain out there," said Ramp Vice President Joseph Barton in a press release. "The tight economy and the outright failure of some organizations have left hundreds of intelligent dental practices in the lurch."

Using Ramp's proprietary Internet-based direct mail portal, dentists can complete any stalled mail campaigns or build a fresh campaign in as little as two weeks, according to the company. Ramp's system is completely automated and dentists are in total control of "what, where, when, and how much" as it pertains to their mailings.

As a full-service agency, Ramp regularly generates direct mail, Internet, radio, TV, and branding campaigns in an effective, turnkey fashion for individual dental practices. In 2008 alone, Ramp's advertising generated more than $60 million in dental production for its clients, according to the company.

Ramp was founded in 2000 by Michael Silverman, D.M.D., a practicing dentist who is also founder of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS) Education, a professional organization representing dentists who provide oral conscious sedation.
