A second dental student from Louisiana State University (LSU) has pleaded guilty to charges of federal financial aid fraud, U.S. Attorney Jim Letten announced.
According to federal court documents, Anthony Juan Walker, 27, a resident of Tarrytown, NY, submitted a fraudulent college transcript from Cornell University that falsely inflated his grade point average and falsely indicated that he had taken the prerequisite science courses for dental school admission, as well as fraudulent Dental Admission Test results to the Louisiana State University Health Science Center New Orleans School of Dentistry.
As a result, Walker obtained admission to LSU School of Dentistry and received $40,072 in loans under the Federal Family Education Loan program.
He faces a maximum term of imprisonment of five years, a $20,000 fine, and up to three years of supervised release following any imprisonment. His sentencing is scheduled for October 14.
Last month, Walker's roommate, Obialunamma Agubuzu, also pleaded guilty to similar charges. Her sentencing is scheduled for October 14 as well.
