Carestream Dental introduced the dual-modality CS 9300-1 extraoral imaging system at the California Dental Association (CDA) meeting in Anaheim this week.
The CS 9300-1 is the first system in Carestream Dental's new extraoral imaging family. It features up to seven selectable fields-of-view (FOVs) for 3D images, ranging from 5 x 5 cm to 17 x 13.5 cm. Additionally, the CS 9300-1 offers clinicians 2D digital panoramic imaging with variable focal trough technology.
"For practitioners who have been waiting to integrate cone-beam computed tomography into their practice, the CS 9300-1 offers everything they need in one space-saving system with exceptional image quality," said Jeffrey Brooks, DMD, clinical director of 3D imaging for Carestream, in a press release.
The CS 9300-1 features multiple fields-of-view for 3D images that enable practitioners to focus on a specific region of interest by collimating the field-of-view, limiting radiation exposure to patients. Also, its fast scan times (as fast as 12 seconds) enable clinicians to capture optimal images with a lower risk of retakes due to patient movement.
The CS 9300-1 comes preinstalled with Carestream Dental's CS 3D imaging software, Dr. Brooks noted.
