A mix-up at a Chattanooga, TN, hospital will result in the exhumation of a man's body in order to retrieve a pair of dentures belonging to someone else, according to an article in the Times Free Press.
The family of an intensive care patient who shared a room at Parkridge Medical Center with the deceased requested that the dentures be returned, according to the article. The dentures had been placed in a box, along with other personal items, inside of the coffin of 76-year-old Kenneth Ray Manis.
The hospital has agreed to cover the cost of new dentures, interment, and reburial, as well as attorney's fees of up to $1,250, the article stated.
