Infinitt has successfully completed testing of a bridge interface between Exan's dental management software and the Infinitt Dental PACS [picture archiving and communications system], the companies announced.
Exan's AxiUm software is designed for the academic environment. Now dental schools that have been using AxiUm can offer Web access to images for referring dentists, and can otherwise replicate their current workflow or take advantage of advanced functionality, such as image viewing in comparison mode, 3D reconstructions, voice recognition, and powerful reporting tools.
The interface configuration is flexible so that the Infinitt product can be used as a standalone system, a fully integrated solution, or some combination of the two, according to the companies.
"When used with Infinitt's Dental PACS, AxiUm will be able to deliver dental images to the point of care, as well as to a wide range of departments within dental clinics and schools," said David Smarro, Infinitt North America CEO, in a press release.
