WASHINGTON, DC - Convergent Dental announced at the 2015 ADA meeting in Washington, DC, that its Solea dental laser has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to perform osseous tissue procedures.
The new clearance allows dentists to use the laser for bone cutting, shaving, recontouring, and resection. The laser previously had received FDA clearance to perform hard- and soft-tissue surgery.
"This osseous tissue clearance is a critical component of our long-term growth strategy," stated Michael Cataldo, CEO of Convergent Dental, in a press release. "It adds even greater value for our current customers who can add more procedures to their repertoire and makes Solea a compelling option for specialists, including periodontists and oral surgeons."
