The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) Charitable Foundation's Give Back a Smile program is launching two new initiatives: Lab Challenge and Give Back a Bigger Smile.
The Lab Challenge is a way for dental laboratories to support the Give Back a Smile (GBAS) program.
"Dentists have had an opportunity to give back through the GBAS Whitening Challenge," Scott Greenhalgh, DDS, chairman of the foundation's board of trustees, said in a press release. "Now, lab technicians have a chance to give back financially as well."
In the Lab Challenge, laboratories commit to donating to GBAS a portion of the proceeds from units fabricated. The suggested donation amount is $1 to $20 per unit. Labs interested in participating can download a form at www.aacd.com/labchallenge.
The Give Back a Bigger Smile initiative is an expansion of GBAS and will provide a limited number of full-mouth smile restorations for qualified GBAS applicants. To become a GBAS volunteer dentist or lab, visit www.aacd.com/GBASvolunteer.
