Carl Misch, DDS, MDS, PhD, died on January 4 at the age of 70, according to an obituary on Tributes.com.
Dr. Misch of Farmington, MI, was a clinical professor in the department of periodontology and oral implantology and also the honorary director of oral implantology at the Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia. He also maintained a private practice in implant surgery and related prosthetics for more than 30 years.
He founded the Misch International Implant Institute in 1984, training more than 4,500 dentists in implant techniques, according to the institute. Dr. Misch was awarded more than 10 patents related to implant dentistry.
