Quebec group launches teen oral health campaign

As it does every year, the Ordre des dentistes du Québec is marking Oral Health Month in April with a province-wide national awareness-building campaign.

This year's campaign, on the theme "Une belle bouche, c'est cool!" (A healthy smile is cool!), is aimed at teens ages 12 to 18 and addresses four subjects of interest to them: tooth jewelry, teeth whitening, energy drinks, and mouth guards.

The organization is working with Cool! magazine to sponsor a contest on the magazine's Facebook page. Every week in April, fans of the page will be invited to enter a drawing by reading a short text on one of the four campaign subjects and answering a question. A winner will be chosen every week and two grand-prize winners, drawn from all entries, will receive an iPad and an Xbox Kinect.

The Ordre des dentistes du Québec represents over 4,700 dentists. Its mission is to ensure the quality of dental services by maintaining high professional and ethical standards and to promote oral health among Quebecers.
