Hu-Friedy mascot inducted into National Museum of Dentistry

Hu-Friedy's Nevi 4 mascot doll has been inducted into the Dr. Samuel D. Harris National Museum of Dentistry in Baltimore, where it will be on display for one year.

The display will give visitors a chance to view and learn about the Host Nevi Tour 2011. The tour, which began in January of 2011, entailed the Nevi 4 mascot traveling throughout the U.S. and visiting each state. For every state Nevi visited, Hu-Friedy donated $1,000 to a scholarship fund for practicing, registered dental hygienists to continue their education.

The four scholarship winners will be announced in a formal press conference at the 2012 Yankee Dental Congress meeting on January 27 in Boston. Each of the Hu-Friedy Nevi Scholarship winners will receive an award of $10,000 to help pay for tuition and books at a school of their choice.

The museum's display case features a montage of photos illustrating Nevi's 2011 tour, giving visitors a glance at some of his many travels, including a special dental mission trip to Haiti.
