Adult Medicaid dental services in North Carolina will be reduced as part of Medicaid cutbacks that take effect in October, according to a story in the Charlotte Observer.
North Carolina legislators approved $354 million in Medicaid cuts proposed by Gov. Bev Perdue in the latest state budget.
Under the new budget, the state will limit deep cleaning dental treatments for people on Medicaid who have periodontal disease to once every two years. Previously, the state paid for such treatments once a year, the Observer reported.
