FindaDoc has launched two new features on its website and its iPhone and Android apps.
eSCHEDULER is a Web-based tool to help doctors fill slots that open in their appointment books from last-minute cancellations, and DOC-FRIEND is a secure, LinkedIn network for doctors in the FindaDoc database to locate, connect, and communicate with each other.
About 1.5 million doctors in the U.S. and Canada are listed by geographic location and specialty and are rated using a proprietary, transparent FindaDoc algorithm, according to the company.
A last-minute cancellation for the dental office is like an empty seat for an airline. Dentists can fill an empty chair with their specifically assigned FindaDoc eSCHEDULER calendar by logging into a personally assigned calendar on the website and clicking on the available time slot of choice. They also have the option to add a discount. The service is provided free of charge.
DOC-FRIEND is also a free service, but it is restricted to doctors. Practicing doctors can find any of their colleagues in the FindaDoc database and connect securely. They can send messages, files, photos, or presentations.
For patients, the GPS-enabled search on the iPhone and Android apps has an option for locating just local doctors with available eSCHEDULER appointments. Clicking on the phone icon on the apps connects directly to the doctor's office.
