Avvo.com, a website where consumers rate medical professionals and attorneys, has added a dental aspect to its Q&A forum and directory.
The company had received "considerable interest" from dentists who wanted to participate in the Q&A section, where consumers can ask medical professionals (vetted for their expertise) for advice, according to CEO Mark Britton.
Avvo is introducing rated dentist profiles in Washington, California, Florida, New York, and three other states as part of a phased rollout, Britton noted in a January 25 blog post. He expects to have rated profiles for dentists in all 50 states by the end of the year.
The company originally started as an online attorney rating service and has since expanded to include medical professionals.
