Do's and don'ts for building a great practice culture

In the 1980s, it was a revolutionary concept when businesses realized that having a workplace culture could galvanize all of their employees toward common behaviors, objectives, and goals. Having a strong practice culture also enhances the work and personal lives of those working in the business.

Practice Success Do

Create a mission and values. Building a powerful culture starts with having a mission and values. Identify your mission and write it down as a mission statement. Then create values that are so powerful that once you establish them, they are nonnegotiable and permanent. The mission and values give your team a strong sense of purpose for the work they do.

Practice Success Dont

Don't neglect talking about your mission and values. Making the mission and values part of daily discussion is essential in building and maintaining your practice culture. Making a statement such as "That's a great example of us living our values" goes a long way reminding the team that this is the foundation of the practice culture.
