The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released a new infection control and prevention training resource as part of Dental Infection Control Awareness Month (DICAM), recognized every September. The training, "Foundations: Building the Safest Dental Visit," is online and self-paced.
The resource is designed to provide an overview of the basic expectations for safe care. It also covers the principles of infection prevention and control that form the basis for CDC recommendations for dental healthcare settings.
The course will be available at no cost to learners through CDC Train. Learners who complete the training are eligible to earn free dental continuing education credit hours, the CDC said.
