Text2Floss will expand its floss-encouraging program in March to Arizona communities, thanks to a grant from the Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation.
Text2Floss is an app and text messaging service designed by dental professionals at A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH). The app is intended to create a flossing habit and raise awareness about oral health. It sends daily reminders to floss, and users are able to access other healthcare tips.
The grant will allow dental hygienists to introduce the app to patients in various community health center campuses around Arizona starting in March.
The new partnership is focused on improving oral health behaviors in pregnant mothers and children, with an overarching goal to increase oral health education in underserved and vulnerable populations.
