The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) will not conduct any more site visits in 2020 amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to an ADA News story.
On April 3, the organization announced it will reschedule postponed and remaining site visits for 2021. CODA also will not process applications for accreditation at this time and will shift regular/reaccreditation site visits forward one year for existing CODA-accredited programs.
The commission made the decision because of issues with travel and the short- and long-term impacts the crisis will have on institutions. Programs that paid a site visit fee but did not have a site visit will receive a refund, the organization noted.
