Welcome to February, dental friends! It’s a big month for our industry, as we are all counting down to the Chicago Midwinter Meeting and all of the news that will come out of the Windy City between the 22nd and 24th of this month. If you’re going to be in Chicago for the meeting, I certainly hope our paths will cross.
One of the things I will be doing at Midwinter is saying congratulations in person to the winners of this year’s Cuspies awards. If you don’t catch the people, products, and events who earned the honor this year (as voted on by DrBicuspid.com readers), check out the list of winners.
Another thing I will be doing in Chicago is checking out the technological advances that are coming to our industry. With so many of them revolving around artificial intelligence (AI), now is a good time for you to gain an understanding of what AI can mean for your practice. This AI 101 guide is a great place to start.
I fully expect the topic of hiring and keeping team members to continue to be a hot topic in Chicago and everywhere in 2024. If you’re wondering about the current state of our industry when it comes to salaries and employment, I highly encourage you to check out these survey results from DentalPost and the burning questions the survey answered.
Elsewhere, I was very interested this week to read about another link in the oral-systemic connection as well as a potential new ally in the battle against oral cancer. Also, was that a tooth or a piece of apple in the wrestling ring on Sunday night? You can help decide if one of WWE’s most famous wrestlers needs a dentist right now.
Finally, what kind of music do you play in your practice? It may make a difference in the mental state of your patients as this report points out.
