Gold tooth dropped in Salvation Army kettle again

Someone anonymously donated a gold tooth, slipping it into a Salvation Army Red Kettle in Arizona. This is the second time in recent years that a gold tooth has been donated at this site, according to a story published on October 29 on FOX 10 Phoenix.

The gold tooth weighs about 2.5 g and is valued at about $100. In November 2021, a gold tooth weighing about 5 g -- valued at approximately $300 -- was dropped at the same site in Quartzsite, AZ, according to the story.

Though most people usually donate coins, cash, and even the occasional casino chip, gold teeth haven’t been the only unique donations. Other donations have included jewelry, including a diamond ring taped to a dollar bill.

No matter the type of donation, the Salvation Army said it’s always appreciated.
