Dental service organization (DSO) Pacific Dental Services (PDS) donated more than $7.6 million in dental services to underserved patients during the 12th annual Smile Generation Serve Day.
Nationwide, more than 2,500 patients received dental care at the event, which occurred on August 20. At this year's event, patients included veterans and those affiliated with nonprofit organizations, including the Special Olympics, Future Smiles, The Freedom Child Foundation, the Dental Lifeline Network, the Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, the Adopt-A-Vet Dental Program, The Kaufman Fund, and After Innocence.
Additionally, PDS team members and their families assisted with multiple community service projects, which included participating in blood drives, creating encouragement cards for pediatric cancer patients, packing back-to-school kits with supplies, and serving at local food banks. PDS volunteered more than 55,000 hours of service to their local communities.
