One man's unique protest of Western Dental and Orthodontics in Merced, CA, for contested work the practice recommended for his son reached millions recently, according to a report by Newsweek.
Layne Barton was filmed by a passerby standing outside Western Dental's offices with an amp and an electric guitar playing while holding up a sign that said, "Western Dental Sucks." The video was posted on Twitter, where it has been viewed more than 4.2 million times since it was posted on March 12.
Barton's frustration stemmed from work Western Dental performed on his 14-year-old son who needed braces, he told Newsweek. He said the dental practice recommended surgery to fix a crooked tooth, which turned out to be unnecessary.
After the video of Barton's performance went viral, Western Dental issued a refund for his son's braces, Newsweek reported.
