Two faculty members from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine have each been awarded a $5,000 grant, including one who will use the funds to develop virtual reality (VR) goggles to improve implant planning.
Ahmet Orgev, a clinical associate professor, is developing VR goggles designed to enhance dental implant planning, improve precision, and help patients visualize their treatment. Orgev hopes to streamline procedures and reduce human error while also integrating the technology into student training.
Adaias Matos, PhD, a clinical assistant professor, is exploring artificial intelligence for interactive lectures and personalized student assessments.
The grants were awarded from academic affairs through the UB Office of Curriculum, Assessment and Teaching Transformation.
