Valleywise Health has received a grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration to establish a new dental residency program in the Phoenix area.
The Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program will train dental residents to do the following:
- Provide multidisciplinary oral healthcare for ethnically and racially diverse patients
- Apply concepts of quality improvement and practice management
- Help future practitioners have a better understanding of the oral healthcare needs of vulnerable communities
Recruitment of dental residents for the AEGD program will begin in the fall of 2022.
