The Dawson Academy, a dental education company, has been purchased by private equity firm Valencia Capital.
The sale of the St. Petersburg, FL, firm, which closed on December 30, 2016, was announced on March 28 by Generational Equity, which advises companies on mergers and acquisitions.
The Dawson Academy was founded in 1979 by Peter Dawson, DDS, to provide dentists with postgraduate education designed to improve their practices clinically and financially. The academy provides in-person lectures and workshops, online courses, treatment planning software, discussion boards, and local study groups.
