The University of Louisville School of Dentistry has been reaccredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) through December 31, 2022.
The school's Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program, Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene program, and advanced dental education programs in endodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and general practice residency have all been reaccredited. More than 600 students participate in the accredited programs, and the school provides oral healthcare to nearly 88,000 patients each year.
"It is our mission to educate competent dental professionals through excellent in teaching and research," stated John Sauk, DDS, dean of the dental school, in a press release. "This accreditation speaks to the high quality of our programs that provide oral healthcare to our local and statewide communities."
