Birner Dental's Q3 revenues rise, income drops sharply

Birner Dental Management Services reported revenues that edged up for the third quarter of 2013, but net income dropped.

For the quarter (end-September 30), the company reported sales of $16.1 million for the period, a 2.2% increase over revenues of $15.7 million for the same quarter in 2012. Net income for the quarter declined, however, from $383,000 a year ago to $1,000 in the most recent quarter.

Revenue increased $1.4 million, or 3.0%, to $49.1 million for the first nine months of 2013. Net income for the first three quarters in 2013 decreased to $422,000, compared with $834,000 for the same period in 2012.

Birner Dental acquires, develops, and manages dental practice networks in Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. The company currently manages 66 dental offices with 121 dentists under the Perfect Teeth name.

Birner has opened three new offices during the last year: Tucson, AZ; Erie, CO; and Loveland, CO.
