The Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD) is opening the Hugh Love Center for Research and Education in Technology, a state-of-the-art dental clinic that will provide dental students with hands-on experience using the latest dental equipment and products.
This is the first of a series of planned dental centers being opened by the Center for Research and Education in Technology (CRET) in collaboration with academic institutions. CRET is a nonprofit association of dental industry leaders that partners with academic institutions to develop technology education programs for dental students, dental residents, and dental faculty.
Designed jointly by CRET and LLUSD, the Hugh Love Center for Research and Education in Technology is a fully functional private-dental-office styled clinic located within the dental school. The 3,000-sq-ft center features six dental operatories and a three-chair open clinic with donated equipment from CRET corporate members. The center was named in honor of LLUSD alumnus Hugh Love, DDS, whose unrestricted gift made the new center possible.
