The Eco-Dentistry Association (EDA) and the American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM) have partnered to support office managers in adopting greener practices in the dental office.
The Green Leaders partnership, funded by a grant from the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, aims to educate dental office managers on the environmental and bottom-line benefits of implementing digital modalities, as well as initiatives to reduce waste, energy, and water in the dental practice, according to the EDA.
"There's a misperception that being a good environmental steward costs more," EDA Co-Founder Ina Pockrass stated in a press release. In reality, going green saves money; helps attract and retain new, high-quality patients; and maximizes staff efficiency and doctor productivity, resulting in healthier practice financial performance, she noted.
In May, Pockrass will present a free webinar to AADOM members on the money-saving benefits of green practice. In addition, the EDA will host a booth at the AADOM conference in September in Scottsdale, AZ, where both organizations will recognize office managers for their green achievements.
Through the remainder of 2012, AADOM members are eligible to receive a complimentary one-year membership with the Eco-Dentistry Association and vice versa.
