Midmark launches new LED operatory light

Midmark has launched its new LED operatory light at this week's Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting.

The light provides the reduced-shadow white light needed to properly identify shades, see details, and diagnose tissue, according to the company. It offers a select feathered edge to minimize eyestrain caused by sharp edges with high-contrast differences.

The light has an ergonomic design with pull, tilt, and twist options, as well as access to a touchpad. An automatic, motion-controlled on/off function can be set on the touchpad with the touch of a button. The touchpad control also provides three intensity adjustments and a composite-safe setting to prevent premature curing.

The light uses 50% of the energy of the market-leading LED dental lights and more than 80% less than halogen dental lights, according to Midmark.

The new LED operatory light can be retrofitted onto any existing Midmark dental chair package.
