Medicaid of South Carolina will reduce dentist fees by 3%, effective for services provided on or after July 8, according to a public notice issued by the agency. The reduction is in addition to a 3% reduction enacted on April 8.
The reductions are designed to help the agency grapple with "unprecedented" budget shortfalls during the current and upcoming budget cycle. The agency does not anticipate any adverse changes in available care for Medicaid recipients as a result of the reductions, but will carefully monitor their impact.
