Birner Dental 2010 revenues up, income down

Birner Dental Management Services reported revenues of $15.7 million for the fourth quarter of 2010 (end-December 31), an 11% increase over revenues of $14.2 million for the same quarter a year ago.

However, net income for the quarter fell to $207,000, a 43% decrease over net income of $457,000 for the fourth quarter of 2009.

Birner reported revenues of $64 million for the year, an 8% increase over revenues of $59 million for 2009. Net income for the year fell 25%, from $1.9 million in 2009 to $1.4 million in 2010.

The company attributed the revenue increases to three offices acquired in the third and fourth quarters of 2009 and two offices opened in the first and fourth quarters of 2010.

While Birner's Perfect Teeth dental offices generated strong financial results in the fourth quarter of 2010, the performance of Vantage Dental Implant Center negatively affected the company's earnings, according to the company, and Birner anticipates this trend to continue in 2011.
