Midmark helped the Ohio State University College of Dentistry renovate its emergency dental clinic by donating $400,000 to the school for the project.
The grand opening of the renovated clinic, which is now called the Midmark Emergency Care Clinic, was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony late last year.
The new facility features a better space to work in, new dental chairs, new cabinets, new sinks, lights, and digital x-ray units, the university noted.
"This area hadn't been updated in any significant way for several decades, and it was aging badly," said John Nusstein, DDS, chair of the division of endodontics and director of the emergency dental clinic, in a press release. "We serve about 5,000 patients each year, so it's a heavy traffic area that needed new equipment to serve our clients better -- and to do a better job of training the DDS students who work here."
"The reason for this gift is certainly because we care about Ohio State and the College of Dentistry, but it's also something we wanted to do because we're committed to improving healthcare and we're passionate about education," said Midmark CEO Anne Eiting Klamar, MD.
Dr. Klamar is an alumna of Ohio State's College of Medicine.
